RCC board member covers Haiti earthquake

Tim Frakes
RCC Governing Board member Tim Frakes is heading to Haiti to record images of destruction and recovery following a Jan. 12 earthquake.
Frakes, an independent video producer from Glen Ellyn, Ill., left Jan. 26. He is to travel by convoy over land from the Dominican Republic to Port-au-Prince in Haiti. He is to return Feb. 2. The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America disaster response agency, Action by Churches Together International and the Lutheran World Federation are sponsoring his work.
Frakes, a member of RCC's Greater Chicago Chapter, does single camera, documentary and image productions for nonprofits, faith-based organizations and broadcast clients.
A 7.0 magnitude earthquake – the strongest in more than two centuries – hit west of Port-au-Prince Jan. 12. Offices, homes, hotels and government buildings collapsed. The temblor affected some 3 million people. More than 30 aftershocks followed in the next few days.
