The Religion Communicators Council, an interfaith organization of professional religion communicators, presents two awards to members each year: The DeRose-Hinkhouse Memorial Award and the Wilbur Award.

DeRose-Hinkhouse Memorial Awards

DeRose-Hinkhouse Best of Class statueThe DeRose-Hinkhouse Memorial Awards are given annually to active RCC members who demonstrate excellence in religious communications and public relations.

The deadline for entries to the DeRose-Hinkhouse Awards is January 17, 2020.

The awards luncheon is Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City, 2799 Richmond Highway, Arlington, VA 22202 as part of the once-a-deacde Religion Communication Congress 2020. RCC is one of 100+ cooperating organizations meeting at RCCongress 2020, March 17-21, 2020.

70 plus years celebration of the Wilbur Awards

Wilbur Award stained glass trophySince 1949, the Wilbur Awards, have been presented annually to recognize excellence in the communication of religious issues, values and themes in secular media.

The entries are judged by media professionals in a jury process, under the supervision of RCC members across the country. Basic criteria include content, creativity, execution and results, but the ultimate criteria is excellence in the communication of religious values.

The entry deadline for the 2020 Wilbur Awards is Friday, January 24, 2020.

Entry application and forms will be available by September 5, 2019. The 2020 categories and application form will be similar to the 2019 Wilbur Awards entry form and categories with only minor changes.

The banquet honoring the Wilbur winners for 2020 is Friday, March 20 in the ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Crystal City, 2799 Richmond Highway, Arlington, VA 22202 as part of the once-a-deacde Religion Communication Congress 2020.
