Identity Amid DiversityRCC 2009 — Identity Amid Diversity

March 26-29, 2009 in Boston, Massachusetts

The Boston Chapter of Religion Communicators Council hosted communicators in the birthplace of so much American religious, cultural and political history.

Past National Presidents Philip Poole and Dan Gangler present the birthday cake for RCC’s 80th birthday.

Celebrating RCC’s 80th anniversary, the annual convention investigated how to brand individual organizations in an age of increasing religious pluralism.

Richard Parker of Harvard University opened the convention charging communicators to help reframe the debate about religious diversity in the public sphere. Workshops, speakers and expert panels addressed the role of communicators in today’s dynamic and diverse religion marketplace.

The annual DeRose-Hinkhouse and Wilbur Awards recognized excellence in the work of active RCC members and the secular media.
