In memoriam

The Rev. Dr Hans W. Florin, World Association of Christian Communicators (WACC) General Secretary from 1976 to 1986, died recently after a short illness. Hans was a longtime friend of RCC and one of the WACC directors who added so much to the 2015 RCC convention in DC. He and his wife, Ev, attended all the functions and were great sports in sharing their wonderful history with so many of us. He was a visionary dedicated to communication rights in the world.

Zia Shamsy, longtime RCC member, friend and colleague of members of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Chapter, died in early June. Zia was a member of the Bahá’í faith and served as Public Information officer for the Bahá’ís in North Texas. His vocation was as a mechanical engineer and he was instrumental is the building of the Bahá’í Worship Center in Plano, a Dallas suburb.

Interesting to see the photographer has his photo taken with the then First Lady and current Democratic candidate for president, Hillary Clinton. Mike says he hopes if she wins, she will invite him to ride on Air Force One!! (Mike is also a pilot.)
