Consider bringing the name of your faith group or organization to RCC’s national convention, March 30-April 1 in Chicago, by sponsoring a break, advertising in the program book, adding materials to attendees’ goody bags and so on. See the RCC 2017 Sponsorship and Space Ad Options or contact Shirley Struchen in the New York Office.

Call to Meeting notice

January 30, 2017

This message is your official notification of the Religion Communicators Council (RCC) annual business meeting for 2017

The session will convene at 8:00 a.m. Friday, March 31 at The Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare, 5440 N. River Rd., Rosemont, IL 60018. That hotel is the site of the 88th annual RCC National Convention.

RCC is incorporated in New York as a nonprofit entity under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. The RCC bylaws require an annual meeting for conducting the council's corporate business, such as electing officers. The meeting is open to all members. Members in good standing have voice and vote.

Article 6 of the corporate bylaws specifies the following agenda:

  1. Roll call

  2. Minutes from previous meeting

  3. Reports of committees

  4. Old business

  5. New business

  6. Adjournment

Committee reports include 2017 nominations for officers and openings on the Board of Governors.

Article 11 of the bylaws requires all local chapters to submit written activity reports to the annual meeting. These reports of one page or less, are to detail what chapters have done since the 2016 annual meeting. The bylaws say the Board of Governors may revoke the charter of any local chapter that doesn't submit a written activity report to at least two consecutive annual meetings.

Chapter presidents should submit annual reports to RCC Executive Director Shirley Struchen by March 15th.

Online registration for the March 30-April 1 National Convention is now available. I hope to see you at both the convention and annual meeting March 31st in the Chicago, IL area.
