December 2017 Update

Renew your membership; enter to compete for awards

Make sure to renew your RCC membership and guarantee your eligibility for the DeRose-Hinkhouse Awards for excellence in religion communication. Entry deadline is January 19, 2018. For categories and to enter online, visit the DeRose-Hinkhouse Awards. Renew your membership now (if you haven’t already) and enter.

As you renew, think about the great work you have created this past year and enter it for an award:

  • What projects are you most proud of?

  • What resources did you create that were really helpful?

  • What was your most creative, innovative communications tool of 2017?

Wilbur Watch” is in full swing. What is that, you ask? The Religion Communicators Council (RCC) acknowledges and recognizes excellence in the communication of the values of faith and religion presented by the secular media. RCC members are encouraged to “watch’ for programs, stories, radio presentations, photos, etc. that show and explain faith. The Wilbur Awards is one of the oldest recognition programs in religion communications. RCC is accepting entries for the 2018 Wilbur Awards.

Secular media professionals have until Feb. 5, 2018 to submit work produced in 2017. What have you seen, read, heard and who do you know in the secular media that should consider entering this awards competition. More details are found on the Wilbur Awards page.
