Support RCC!

Give money! Donate in honor or memory of someone or just to do a good thing. RCC will celebrate 90 years as an organization supporting and honoring the work of those who work in communication roles for faith-based organizations in 2019. If you can, consider a gift of $90 to honor the organization and the occasion.

Opportunity

Be a cooperating organization for RCCongress in 2020! RCCongress 2020 is a once-a-decade decade international gathering of professional religion communicators from a wide range of faith traditions. RCC member Philip Poole has been named coordinator for the event.

Resources

Harvard’s Divinity School has an online course called “Religious Literacy: Traditions and Scriptures,” which is the first in a series of online learning modules designed to educate and spark discussion of religion between people in a mindful way throughout the globe. The series includes modules on Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, and Judaism. The courses are part of Harvard’s efforts to promote knowledge of religion, and the study of it (either for teaching purposes, political purposes, professional purposes, or for other interests). For more information see Religious Literacy: Traditions and Scriptures. The online courses are self-paced and free.

Check out: Acts of Faith newsletter from The Washington Post. Conversations about religion, faith, spirituality, ethics and values are published every Tuesday and Thursday. Contributors include Michelle Boorstein, Julie Zauzmer, and Sarah Pulliam Bailey. Sign up on the Acts of Faith website. It is free.

Also worth checking: www.GetReligion.org. This is not a religion news site. This is a site about how many professionals in the mainstream press struggle to cover – to “get” – religion news. Get Religion’s contributors critique current stories (print, digital, online, blogs, etc.) for religion “ghosts.”
