This session will focus on the communication strategies surrounding crisis management. Specific attention will be paid to litigation issues that arise during a crisis, and specific legal issues that affect crisis communication.

Copyright, Social Media, and Communication

This session discusses recent intellectual property law issues involving online and digital communication. Specific attention will be paid to copyright protection, issues of fair use, and digital display.

M. Cayce Myers, Ph.D., J.D., APR, (@CayceMyers) is a legal research editor for the Institute for Public Relations, member of the Georgia Bar Association, and assistant professor of communication at Virginia Tech. In addition to researching public relations history, Dr. Myers researches current legal developments affecting PR practice. Currently Dr. Myers is the legal research editor for the Institute for Public Relations and regularly writes trade press articles on legal developments affecting public relations.
