February 2020 Update

Coming Mid-March – Religion Communication Congress 2020

A once-a-decade gathering of professional religion communicators from a wide range of faith traditions

March 17-21 in Washington, D.C. area

Religion Communication Congress 2020 (RCCongress 2020) meets March 17-21, 2020

Theme: Communicating Faith in the Public Square

I need superlatives to describe the speakers, workshops, awards programs, fellowship and opportunities that you’ll have at RCCongress 2020. If you are a member of Religion Communicators Council (RCC), Associated Church Press (ACP), or any of the other 100+ cooperating organizations, your organization will have its own meeting within the meeting.

How about: top notch, mega, super, ultimate, best, brightest, incomparable, marvelous, uber, monumental, indescribable, unimaginable, utmost, matchless, consummate... and so on.

One of many highlights:

Is there a culture war between the LGBTQI and faith-based communities? Explore balancing civil and religious rights during a panel discussion on this topic. Panelists Melissa Reid, Dr. Stanley Carlson-Thies, Tim Schulz, and Tyler Deaton – all either religious freedom or LGBTQI advocates – will consider how the two communities can find common ground. Read more here about the panelists’ qualifications and search for fairness: Religion Communication Congress 2020 explores LGBTQI and religious rights. This session will be on Friday, March 20.

Registration – Full convention registration for RCC members is $395 (early rate good until Feb. 22) and includes all presentations, workshops, scheduled meals, and Wilbur Awards banquet. (Tickets to the DeRose-Hinkhouse presentation lunch are $50). Day rates and additional awards tickets are also available. Register online today!

Venue – Our conference hotel will be the Hyatt Regency Crystal City at Reagan National Airport where we’ve negotiated a room rate of $208/night + taxes. Reservation code and online booking are available online or or call 1-877-803-7534 and mention RCCongress 2020 for the speical rate. Reservation rates are good until Feb. 22.

Sponsorships – Consider highlighting your organization's services with 200+ faith-based communicators. This multi-faith forum is intended to enrich, engage, educate and empower professional communicators of religion and faith-based issues and offers fellowship and networking opportunities. Both sponsorship and exhibit opportunities are still open.
